石珍安神颗粒治疗肾虚肝旺证首发精神分裂症认知损害随机对照研究
Shizhen Anshen Granules for Cognitive Impairments in First-Episode Schizophrenia with Shen Deficiency and Gan Hyperactivity Syndrome:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Abstract
Objective To investigate the neuroimaging mechainsms of Shizhen Anshen Granules on cognitive dysfunction of patients with first-episode schizophrenia due to Shen deficiency and Gan hyperactivity syndrome.Methods The enrolled 40 patients with first-episode schizophrenia due to Shen deficiency and Gan hyperactivity syndrome were randomly assigned to a treatment group and a control group.The treatment group received Shizhen Anshen Granules combined with aripiprazole.And the control group received placebo combined with aripiprazole.Both groups were treated for 8 weeks.Cognitive assessments and resting-state functional magnetic resonance scanning were performed before and after treatment.Cortical analysis was applied to calculate fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation(fALFF)values of the brain regions of both groups.And the correlation between abnormal functional activities of brain regions and cognitive functions was analyzed.Results Compared with baseline,the treatment group showed significant improvements in information processing speed,attention/alertness,word learning and visual learning after treatment(P＜0.05),and exhibited significantly greater improvement in information processing speed(P＜0.05),increased fALFF values in the left ventral posterior cingulate cortex,dorsolateral prefrontal cortex,and primary visual cortex after treatment(P＜0.05),and decreased fALFF values in the left secondary auditory cortex,primary somatosensory cortex,and right inferior temporal pole cortex(P＜0.05).Additionally,the difference in visualization learning scores was positively correlated with the difference in fALFF values in the right inferior temporal cortex(P=0.011),and negatively correlated with the difference in fALFF values in the right primary somatosensory cortex(P=0.026).Conclusions Shizhen Anshen Granules can improve several cognitive functions in patients with first-episode schizophrenia with Shen deficiency and Gan hyperactivity syndrome,which may be related to the specific changes in fALFF values in brain regions such as the right primary visual cortex and right inferior temporal cortex.(Chinese Clinical Trial Registry No.ChiCTR2000032877).关键词
