Abstract

In order to explore the status of coffee research both domestically and internationally,this study conducted a bibliometric analysis based on publications titled with coffee retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)database and the Web of Science(WOS)database.The analysis focused on publication trends over the past two decades(2004-2023),including the publication time and quantity,major authors,research hotspots,and burst keywords.The results indicated that in China,the quantity of publications related to coffee research began to increase after 2014.Most studies focused on Coffea arabica,with an emphasis on physiological and biochemical indicators as well as cultivation and management methods.The leading scholars in the field in China included LONG Yuzhou,DONG Yunping and HUANG Lifang.In addition,there was close collaboration among major contributing authors.Internationally,the quantity of publications showed an overall increasing trend from 2004 to 2023,with a rapid rise after 2019 and reaching a peak in 2023.The research was mainly concentrated at the molecular and genetic levels,with a smaller proportion focusing on physiological and biochemical traits and cultivation methods.The main species studied were Coffea canephora and Coffea arabica.Leading international scholars included Miroslava Rakocevic,Fabio Luiz Partelli,and Jose C.Ramalho.However,the collaborations among major international authors appeared to be relatively weak.
