Effects of Polyurethane Fibers on the Structure and Properties of Hydrogel Dressings

Abstract
In order to improve the mechanical properties of hydrogel dressings,polyurethane was taken as the raw material and the electrospinning method was adopted to prepare fiber membranes which were subsequently in-corporated into hydrogels to form fiber-reinforced composite hydrogels.The interfacial interaction between the fi-bers and hydrogels was examined via scanning electron microscopy.Moreover,the effects of electrospinning time on the mechanical properties of the films and composite hydrogels were investigated.The test results demonstrated that upon combination with the films,the hydrogels exhibited a substantially enhanced ductility with the elonga-tion at break rising from 61.5%to 136.9%.An increase in electrospinning time led to a greater fiber network density of the PU films,consequently strengthening the mechanical properties and allowing for a wide-ranging adjustability of the dressings'mechanical properties.The cyclic loading test verified the excellent mechanical fa-tigue resistance of the composite hydrogels.关键词
