摘要

Abstract

The arid area in west China is an important region for development,and the intensification of human activity and climate change are likely to cause ecological and environmental challenges.In the present study,based on the fractional vegetation cover(FVC)dataset and geographic information system technology,the spatiotemporal characteristics of FVC and its correlation with meteorological factors in Xinjiang from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed from a land use perspective using trend analysis,stability analysis,and bias correlation analysis methods.The results showed that 1)bare ground and grassland account for approximately 90%of the total area,and the extremely low vegetation cover type accounts for more than 70%of the total area,with bare ground dominating within this type.2)Grassland,bare land,and cropland are more prone to land use type change,with cropland transferring the largest area;FVC in Xinjiang showed a significant increasing(P<0.05)trend,with bare land and construction land showing significant increase(P<0.05)in FVC,and the change in FVC for each land use type was relatively stable.3)The areas with significant decreases in FVC(P<0.1)were mostly dominated by grassland to bare land,whereas those with increasing trends were dominated by bare land to grassland and grassland to cropland;more areas showed positive correlations between FVC and precipitation,with a greater percentage of grassland area and a smaller percentage of bare land,which is the opposite trend compared to that of temperature,showing that grassland is more susceptible to the impacts of climate change.
