Abstract

The Zhenzhuchong Member is vertically adjacent to the hydrocarbon generating center of Xuji-ahe Formation in Western Sichuan Basin which is a potential layer for unconventional tight oil and gas exploration.Based on the analysis of 2D lattice profile,outcrop,core data,drilling and logging data,the palaeogeomorphology of Zhenzhuchong Member was restored,and the type and control effect of sed-imentary system of Zhenzhuchong Member were defined.The results show that the Zhenzhuchong Member in Western Sichuan has a paleo geo m orphic pattern of high in the west and low in the east,with three palaeo-geomorphic units:palaeo-gully,palaeo-slope and palaeo-remnant hill.The types of sedi-mentary systems in northwestern,central and southern Sichuan Basin are obviously different.Among them,due to the strong tectonic activity and abundant source supply of Longmenshan,fan delta sedi-mentary mainly composed of gravel was developed in northwest Sichuan Basin.The Longmenshan tec-tonic activity is weakened in the central part of Western Sichuan Basin,and proximal alluvial fan-braided river delta deposits are developed.In the relatively quiet period of Longmenshan tectonic activity in southwest Sichuan Basin,meander river delta sediments mainly composed of fine sandstone were devel-oped.Lacustrine sedimentary systems are widely distributed in the west and north Sichuan depressions.The palaeogeomorphology control the sediment space,affect the sediment transport path and accumula-tion location,and then determine the type and distribution of sedimentary system in the Zhenzhuchong Member of the Western Sichuan Basin.This result is of guiding significance for the exploration of conti-nental tight gas in the Sichuan Basin.
