摘要

Abstract

This study aims to unveil the high-yielding mechanism of super rice.Field experiments were conducted with the super rice varieties('Xiangliangyou 900','Y Liangyou 900','Y Liangyou 2','Y Liangyou 1',and'Liangyoupeijiu'),which were highly representative in different per unit yield target periods,and the common hybrid rice variety'Shanyou 63'at the Chunhua Base in Changsha County of Hunan Province.The material accumulation and allocation,yield formation characteristics,photosynthetic physiological parameters,and respiration dynamics were compared among different varieties.The results showed that the super rice varieties had significantly higher aboveground dry matter than'Shanyou 63'after the milky maturity stage,and the panicle dry matter of'Xiangliangyou 900'maintained at a high level.The super rice varieties had significantly higher yields than'Shanyou 63'.The yield improvement of'Liangyoupeijiu'(which enhanced sink capacity through increased effective panicles)bred in phase I was relatively limited.The super rice varieties bred in phases II-V that balanced panicle number and grain number per panicle demonstrated higher yields.'Xiangliangyou 900'had the highest yield(10.05 t/hm2),which was 2.97%-28.52%higher than those of other super rice varieties and 32.41%higher than that of'Shanyou 63'.The high-yielding varieties'Xiangliangyou 900'and'Y Liangyou 900'kept higher SPAD values,net photosynthetic rate,and water use efficiency from the full heading stage to the milky maturity stage,showcasing excellent photosynthetic performance.There was a distinct respiration peak in dark respiration during the grain-filling stage.Both the duration and intensity of this respiration peak showed positive correlations with the rice yield.
