Abstract

This study aims to explore the effects of transplanting density and number of transplanted seedlings per hill on the rice quality of early-season rice.The rice variety'Xiangzaoxian 32'was planted,and a split-plot design was adopted.The number of transplanted seedlings per hill was taken as the main plot,with three levels of R1(1 seedling per hill),R2(4 seedlings per hill),and R3(7 seedlings per hill).The transplanting density was taken as the split-plot,with three levels of M1(25 cm×10 cm),M2(25 cm×15 cm),and M3(25 cm×20 cm).The results showed that transplanting density and number of transplanted seedlings per hill had significant effects on rice quality.The R2M2 treatment showed the brown rice rate 1.41%higher than the R1M3 treatment,the milled rice rate 1.89%and 2.85%higher than the R1M1 and R1M3 treatments,the head rice rate 6.97%and 7.34%higher than the R2M1 and R3M1 treatments,and the aspect ratio 1.01%and 1.52%lower than R1M1 and R1M3 treatments,respectively,all with significant differences.In addition,the amylose content of the R2M2 treatment significantly increased by 17.24%compared with that of the R2M1 treatment.In summary,the R2M2 treatment can increase the amylose content while improving the processing quality(brown rice rate,milled rice rate,and head rice rate)and appearance quality(chalkiness,chalky grain percentage,and aspect ratio).
