Abstract

To optimize the navigation conditions of Yantan Ship Lift,this study simulates the process of ships entering and exiting the chamber through physical model tests,and analyzes water level fluctuation characteristics and their impact on ship stability under different speeds and water depths.The experiments employ a model designed based on the gravity similarity criterion,focusing on measuring water level variations in the chamber and intermediate channel,as well as ship sinkage.Results indicate that ship speed and chamber water depth significantly affect the amplitude of water level fluctuations.When the speed exceeds 0.6 m/s,fluctuations intensify,and maximum ship sinkage increases.Considering both bottom clearance safety and water level fluctuations,a recommended ship entering and exiting speed of 0.5-0.6 m/s and a design chamber water depth of 3.4 m can meet the navigation requirements for 1000-ton-class ships.The findings provide a scientific basis for the operational management of Yantan Ship Lift,enhancing its safety and stability,while offering valuable references for similar projects.
