Analysis of self-management of central venous cannulation via peripheral venous puncture in oncology patients related to disease knowledge and so-cial support

Abstract
Objective To analyze the correlation between self-management ability and disease knowledge level as well as social support in patients with tumor who have peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC).Methods A total of 87 patients with tumor who had PICC catheterization in Yingtan People's Hospital from January 2022 to April 2024 were selected as the research subjects.The self-management ability,disease knowledge level and social support of the patients were evaluated by using the cancer patients PICC self-management scale(CPPSM),a self-made PICC patient disease knowledge questionnaire and the social support rating scale(SSRS).The relationship between self-management ability and disease knowledge level as well as social support in tumor patients with PICC was analyzed.Results Among the 87 tumor patients with PICC,18 cases had high self-management ability,44 cases had medium self-management ability and 25 cases had low self-management ability.The scores of the self-made PICC patient disease knowledge questionnaire and SSRS in patients with high self-management ability were higher than those in patients with medium and low self-management ability,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The bivariate Pearson linear correlation analysis showed that the scores of each dimension and the total score of CPPSM in tumor patients with PICC were positively correlated with the scores of each dimension and the total score of the self-made PICC patient disease knowledge questionnaire and SSRS(r＞0,P＜0.05).Conclusion The self-management ability of tumor patients with PICC is related to disease knowledge level and so-cial support.关键词
