Structural Mechanical Properties and Strength Analysis of Composite Wind Turbine Blade

Abstract
To study the effects of the wind pressure,centrifugal force,and gravity on the structural characteristics and strength of the blade,a wind turbine blade model with 1.5 MW is established.Combining with the composite laminate,the aerodynamic load distribution of the blade is calculated by using the computaional fluid dynamics(CFD)method,and loading to the blade surface,the changes of stress,displacement,and strength of the blade under different wind speeds,rotating speeds,and phase angles are analyzed.The results show that the variation of the maximum displacement,maximum stress,and maximum inverse reserve factor(IRF)of the blade with the rotating speed conforms to the law of cubic polynomial.The larger stress and IRF are mainly concentrated at 0.2R and 0.3R-0.7R of blade spanwise.The maximum displacement and stress change obviously with the phase angle when the wind speed is small,and the maximum IRF changes obviously with the phase angle when the wind speed is small.The curve of maximum IRF with phase angle is W-shaped,and the fitting curve conforms to the second order Fourier function.The results can provide theoretical and data reference for blade design or maintenance monitoring.关键词
