Guidelines for nutritional assessment and intervention in pediatric/adolescent inflammatory bowel disease patients
摘要
Abstract
The clinical course of an inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)in children and adolescents is frequently characterized by its protracted and severe nature, presenting substantial challenges for both therapeutic interven-tion and nutritional management. While domestic guidelines for IBD care are available, they largely stem from expert consensus.A critical gap exists, however,in evidence-based clinical practice guidelines specifical-ly tailored to the nutritional assessment and intervention for pediatric IBD patients. To address this situation, the present guidelines were meticulously developed adhering to the rigorous standards set forth in the WHO Handbook for Guideline Development and the Guidelines for the Development/Revisions of Clinical Practice Guidelines in China(2022 edition).A dedicated evidence working group undertook a systematic review and critical appraisal of the literature pertaining to five predefined key clinical questions.Subsequently,inte-grating the overall quality of evidence, expert opinion, and patient/family preferences and values,a compre-hensive set of 18 recommendations for the nutritional management of pediatric IBD was formulated, which are hoped to thoroughly address nutritional risk factors, comprehensive clinical nutritional assessment and indi-vidualized supplementary therapies. The guidelines herein aim to provide clinicians, nutritionists, and nursing teams across various medical and healthcare settings with robust, practical support for clinical decision-making.关键词
