Effects of foliar application of inorganic and chelated calcium and zinc fertilizers on cadmium reduction in peanuts
摘要
Abstract
The influence of foliar application of micronutrients on the cadmium(Cd)content in peanut grains remains ambiguous. This study examines the effects of foliar application of inorganic calcium fertilizer(calcium nitrate),inorganic zinc fertilizer(zinc sulfate),and different chelated calcium/zinc fertilizers(EDTA chelated calcium/zinc,sugar alcohol chelated calcium/zinc)on the reduction of Cd in four peanut varieties(Wanhua No.4,Yueyou 43,Huayu No.22,and Xianghua 2008)through pot and field experiments. The objective is to identify the most effective foliar fertilizer for reducing Cd content and to elucidate its underlying mechanism. Results from the pot experiments revealed that the foliar application of EDTA chelated calcium(EDTA-Ca)and EDTA chelated zinc(EDTA-Zn)treatments had the best Cd reduction effect, achieving a Cd reduction rate of 15.1%to 30.7%across all four peanut varieties.Field experiments further validated the Cd reduction effect of EDTA-Ca and EDTA-Zn treatments, with Cd reduction rates in grains ranging from 24.0%to 40.0%.Mechanistic studies on the Cd reduction effect of EDTA-Ca and EDTA-Zn treatments in the Yueyou 43 variety demonstrated that EDTA-Ca and EDTA-Zn treatments significantly increased Cd accumulation in peanut stems(6.4%,13.6%)and leaves(37.6%,26.9%),increased the proportion of Cd in organelles and soluble fractions in stems and leaves, and significantly reduced Cd translocation from stems and leaves to grains. In conclusion,EDTA-chelated calcium and zinc fertilizers significantly reduce Cd content in peanut grains.关键词
