Abstract
In this study,we investigated the in vitro gingival protection effect of Chitosan and Aloe Vera extract combination(referred to as Chitosan combination),including coagulation,bacterial inhibition,and oral anti-inflammatory effect.The experimental results showed that Chitosan had an excellent coagulation effect in the short and medium time(3 and 5 min)whereas the Chitosan combination a superior coagulation effect in the immediate time(1 min);the Chitosan combination mouthwash had an antibacterial rate of greater than 95%against Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus aureus,demonstrating an excellent antibacterial property;and the Chitosan combination toothpaste and mouthwash were able to significantly reduce the IL-1α,IL-6 and TNF-α in the oral model,showing excellent oral anti-inflammatory properties.In the Volunteer Gingival Problem Test,100%of the testers perceived an improvement in gingival problems with the use of the Chitosan combination toothpaste for 7 days,with the gingival problem score decreasing from 5.70 to 3.65.Therefore,the Chitosan combination has excellent coagulation,oral antibacterial,and oral anti-inflammatory ability,which can achieve gingival care by relieving gingival bleeding,reducing oral bacteria,and alleviating gingival inflammation.关键词
