The Power of Language:The Impact of the Dialect Ability on the Income of Migrant Female Domestic Workers

Abstract
The rapid economic growth and accelerated urbanization process have stimulated the large-scale mobility in China,and domestic service population mobility in China,and domenstic service industry has become an important industry for absorbing floating population.Based on the human capital theory,this paper uses the special survey data of domestic workers in 2019 and the CMP instrumental variable method to analyze the impact of dialectal ability of the inflow place on the income of migrant female domestic workers.The study finds that:the more fluent the dialect in the inflow place,the higher the probability that their monthly income reaches or exceeds the local average level.In addition,professional training,and total personal income in the previous year all have significant impacts on the income of migrant female domestic workers.Based on this,the paper suggests that future efforts should,focus on dialect training for migrant female domestic workers and continue to strengthen their vocational training.关键词
