Abstract

In order to explore the feasibility of piezoelectric technology for providing power to seismic monitoring sensing elements,experimental studies and numerical calculations were employed to study the effects of the shape of the piezoelectric coupled beam,the length of the lever segment,the length of the fixed segment,and the mass of the rod end on the piezoelectric coupled beam's output voltage and power.Taking peak acceleration of 0.012g as an example,in the excitation of El-centro wave,Taft wave,and Northridge wave,the mean values of the voltage and power of U-shaped seismic energy harvester are 45.48 V,39.06 V and 37.59 V,and 2.07 mW,1.53 mW,and 1.41 mW,respectively.The results of the study show that the output voltage and power of the U-shaped seismic energy harvester increase with the increase of the seismic acceleration,and it can satisfy the minimum criteria of the usual operating voltage of seismic monitoring equipment with small amplitude excitation.The conclusions of the study contribute to the popularization and application of piezoelectric technology in the power supply unit of seismic monitoring sensing elements,and provide effective theoretical and data support.
