Effects of Occupational Stress on Sleep Quality of Medical Staff

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the current situation of the sleep quality among medical staffs and to explore the effect of oc-cupational stress on sleep quality,for providing theoretical reference for improving the sleep quality.Methods:Cluster sampling was used to randomly select 360 medical staff from Gansu Provincial People's Hospital as the research objects.Effort Reward Im-balance Questionnaire(ERI)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)were used to evaluate and compare the sleep quality un-der different demographic characteristics and occupational stress.Logistic regression was used to explore thefactors influencing sleep quality.Results:The mean PSQI score of medical staff in the hospital was 6.95±3.14,with the incidence of sleep disturb-ance of 48.57％.There was significant difference in the incidence of sleep disturbance among different age groups(P＜0.05).The occurrence of sleep disturbance in the group with ERI＞1 was higher than that in the group with ERI≤1(P＜0.05).There is no significant difference in the occurrence of sleep disorder between the groups in terms of sex,educational background,marital status,professional title and length of service(P＞0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age below 30-year-old,the age between 30 and 40 years old and high ERI score were the risk factors of sleep quality for medical staff with OR(95％CI)of 25.439(3.062 to 211.318),8.244(1.325 to 51.053),and 1.342(1.192 to 1.510),respectively.Conclusion:The sleep quali-ty of the medical staff is unpleasant,and occupational stress can affect sleep quality.关键词
