Abstract
To study the effects of cuticular protein glycine-rich(CPG)gene family from Hyphantria cunea(HcCPG)on growth and development of H.cunea,the gene HcCPG was cloned and its characteristics were analyzed.Real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction technology was employed to detect expression levels of HcCPG gene at different developmental stages and various organs(tissues)of larvae.RNA interference(RNAi)technology was used to study the regulatory effect of HcCPG gene in the growth and development of H.cunea.Results indicated that open reading frame(ORF)of HcCPG gene was 828 bp encoding 275 amino acids.The expression level of HcCPG gene was the highest in the seventh instar larvae and silk glands.After silencing the HcCPG gene,feeding amount and body mass of larvae were significantly decreased,developmental duration was significantly extended,molting became difficult,and mortality rate increased significantly.HcCPG gene plays an important role in the growth,development,and molting processes of H.cunea.关键词
