Determination of flight ability of Monochamus sartor urussovi

Abstract
To determine the flight ability and the influencing factors of Monochamus sartor urussovi and analyze the migration and dispersal potential,the flight ability of M.sartor urussovi under different photoperiods and nutrition conditions was evaluated using an insect flight mill system indoor.The flight distance,stop location,flight direction,flight duration and flight altitude of M.sartor urussovi in a single flight were recorded using a marking method in field.The results showed that the total flight duration of males was significantly higher than that of females under indoor conditions.The total flight distance and flight duration of M.sartor urussovi under 16 L∶8 D photoperiod were significantly higher than those under 24 L∶0 D photoperiod.The total flight duration,total flight distance,average flight speed and maximum flight speed of adults in the supplementary nutrition group were significantly higher than those in the starvation group.The maximum flight distance of individual adult was 7.19 km,the maximum cumulative flight duration was 1.31 h,and the maximum flight speed was 12.88 km/h.The adults mainly rested on the branches of Picea obovata at approximately 3.0 m above the ground,and the main flight direction was south in field.The maximum distance of single flight was 30.0 m,the maximum height of flight was 15.0 m,and the maximum flight duration was 20 s.Under indoor conditions,M.sartor urussovi had strong potential of flight ability.The adults had a limited single flight distance but could continue to fly in field.The flight ability was influenced by factors such as environmental conditions,nutritional status and individual variation.The results can provide a reference for predicting the spread trends of M.sartor urussovi population.关键词
