摘要

Abstract

Steam huff and puff is one of the effective means to develop heavy oil resources.The injection of high-temperature steam and cyclic injection-production will cause changes in mechanical properties of reservoir and then alter the sand production pattern of thermal recovery wells.Considering the thermal stress effect,the strength weakening caused by heat injection and the rock damage evolution caused by cyclic injection-production,a sand prediction model for thermal wells undergoing multiple cycles of steam huff and puff was developed.Taking an offshore thermal recovery well as a case study,the influence of various factors on the critical drawdown pressure(CDP)for sand production and the sand production pattern under combined factors were analyzed.The results show that the strength damage caused by heat injection has the most significant impact on reducing the CDP,with an average decrease of 10.0 MPa;the reduction in CDP due to thermal stress effects is relatively minor,about 1.0 MPa;Cyclic injection-production damage mainly affects the rocks with strength below 5.5 MPa,leading to their failure within approximately 5 injection cycles,while it has little effect on rocks with strength above 5.5 MPa,and the influence of cyclic injection-production gradually decreases with increasing steam huff and puff cycles.Under the combined influence of thermal stress effects,strength weakening induced by heat injection,and rock damage evolution caused by cyclic injection and production,the CDP of thermal wells decreases significantly after the first steam injection,increasing the risk of sand production.The results of the current work further reveal the sand production pattern of steam huff and puff thermal wells and provide guidance for sand production prediction and sand control strategies in the field.
