Identification and optimization of electromagnetically induced transparency and double resonance optically pumped transparency signals

Abstract
In an open system of 87Rb atoms,the distinction between electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)and double resonance optical pumping(DROP)transparency signals was investigated,and the conditions for obtaining independent spectral lines were explored.By adjusting the intensity of the probe and coupling lasers as well as the vapor cell temperature,the transparency spectra of EIT and DROP were observed.The spectral characteristics of the two-photon absorption peak at resonance and the spectral lines blue-shifted to large detuning were used to distinguish EIT from DROP and optimize the conditions for independent spectral lines.It was found that under weak probe light conditions,increasing the coupling intensity was conducive to the formation of the EIT spectrum,while increasing the probe light intensity inhibits quantum destructive interference and promotes incoherent pumping radiation,favoring DROP spectrum formation.An increase in temperature does not affect the proportion of coherent and incoherent radiation but increases the transparency amplitudes of both EIT and DROP.Theoretical calculations agreed with experimental results,providing new insights into distinguishing and controlling the EIT and DROP phenomena.关键词
