摘要

Abstract

Casein is a renewable natural polymer with excellent biocompatibility,film-forming ability,and biodegradability,making it widely used in the fields of food packaging,coatings,and pharmaceuticals.However,its poor water resistance limits its practical applications.To enhance its properties,researchers in recent years have employed various physical,chemical,and biological modification methods,such as esterification,crosslinking,grafting,and nanop-article modifications,to improve its water resistance.These methods have effectively en-hanced the hydrophobicity of casein.In the chemical industry,modified casein can be used to produce biodegradable plastics and eco-friendly coatings.In the food sector,it serves as a packaging material to extend shelf life and improve food safety.In the pharmaceutical field,it is applied in drug delivery systems,wound dressings,and bio-scaffolds.The application pros-pects of casein are broad,encompassing emerging fields such as intelligent inks,flexible elec-tronics,and biomedicine.
