Review and Prospects of Research on Restorative Environments in University Campus:A Climate-Space-Element Pathway

Abstract
University campus is an important place for students to release physical and mental pressure and address health issues.Focusing on the health benefits of campus environment,this study analyzes the influencing factors to health-supportive environments,aiming to provide a scientific basis for constructing restorative campus environments.Using Web of Science and CNKI as the data source,the paper adopts bibliometric method to review research findings on restorative environments in university campuses.From the perspective of design practice,empirical evidences on restorative benefits are integrated within a three-dimensional framework of"climate environment-spatial types-influencing factors"to propose three key pathways to health-supportive campus environment.At the end,the research prospects are discussed to construct a thermal comfortable environment in campus to improve physical activities,build spaces supported by multi-sensory perception and experience and behavioral activities and exert the restorative benefits and superimposed effects of various spatial elements.All of these would facilitate the creation of high-quality campus environments that promote students'physical and mental health.关键词
