A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Vestibular Function Tests for Predicting Response to Prophylactic Treatment in Patients with Vestibular Migraine
摘要
Abstract
Objective To evaluate potential values of vestibular function tests(VFTs)in predicting responses to prophylactic treatment in patients with vestibular migraine(VM).Methods Databases including the PubMed,Embase,etc were systematically searched and extracted items screened for eligible studies from January 1,2012 to the searching day,by 2 reviewers independently.Disagreements were resolved through consensus.Results Two studies were included for quantitative analysis.Results showed that abnormal caloric test or video head impulse test(vHIT)were positively correlated with the poor response to prophylaxis treatment in VM patients.Conclusion Current evidence showed that VFTs such as caloric test and vHIT may have value in predicting response to prophylaxis treatment in VM patients.This relationship may lead focused research on the pathophysiology and stratified management of VM.However,additional high-quality clinical research with large samples and animal studies are needed.关键词
