Progress of Research on Correlation Between Age-Related Hearing Loss and Late-Life Depression
摘要
Abstract
Age-related hearing loss(ARHL)can induce negative emotions such as loneliness and depressed feelings in patients,which may increase the incidence of depression,significantly impacting patients'physical and mental health and decreasing their quality of life.Currently,ARHL has been considered as an independent risk factor for cognitive decline and depression.Potential mechanisms of ARHL related late-life depression involve behavioral and neurological mechanisms.Hearing interventions such as hearing aids and cochlear implants can alleviate depressive symptoms in patients with ARHL.Therefore,this article will review the correlations between ARHL and late-life depression.关键词
