Treatment of Male Infertility Based on the"Shape,Qi,and Spirit"Simultaneous Regulation Theory
摘要
Abstract
The theory of simultaneous regulation of"Shape,Qi,and Spirit"reflects the holistic concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).This concept guides physicians to approach disease diagnosis and treatment from three aspects:the body constitution(Shape),Qi transformation,and the spirit mechanism(Spirit).The pathogenesis of male infertility often involves an imbalance of these three aspects.The imbalance of"Shape,Qi,and Spirit"in male infertility patients is closely related to"insufficient kidney essence,""poor spleen Qi transformation,"and"impaired brain-heart spirit."Therefore,the treatment of male infertility should focus on the kidney,spleen,brain,and heart to achieve a simultaneous regulation of"Shape,Qi,and Spirit."The treatment should include herbal formulations to"tonify the kidney and replenish essence,"with a balance of both Yin and Yang.Commonly used combinations include Rehmannia,Cornus,and Cinnamon.The tonifying herbs should also include draining herbs,with herbs like Goji berries,Schisandra,and Plantago.For strengthening the spleen and replenishing Qi,combinations such as Ginseng,Astragalus,and Atractylodes are often used to balance Qi movement.Additionally,Starwort Root,Cimifuga,and Immature Bitter Orange are added to regulate Qi."Simultaneous adjustment of the brain and heart"is essential,and both acupuncture and herbal medicine are applied.Herbal medicine such as Acorus,Hypericum,Pearl,and Polygala is used to calm the spirit.Acupuncture points such as Shen Ting(GV24),Bai Hui(GV20),and Si Shen Chong(EX-HN1)are chosen to regulate the brain,while Nei Guan(PC6),Shen Men(HT7),and Si Guan are used to calm the heart.The patient's mental and emotional state should also be taken into consideration.This paper presents the diagnostic and therapeutic approach based on the"Shape,Qi,and Spirit"simultaneous regulation theory for treating male infertility,aiming to provide new insights for the comprehensive management of male reproductive health.关键词
