Economic policy uncertainty,digital transformation and high quality enterprise development

Abstract
Against the backdrop of frequent economic policy adjustments,companies are challenged to develop at a high quality level,and digital transformation has become a key driver.This paper examines the relationship among economic policy uncertainty,digital transformation and high-quality corporate development,using a sample of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2016-2022.By constructing a moderating effect model,it is found that digital transformation of enterprises can mitigate the inhibitory effect of economic policy uncertainty on the high-quality development of enterprises,and this mitigating effect is achieved through the enhancement of research and development investment and innovation output,and is enhanced with the increase in the degree of digitization.The endogeneity tests and robustness tests support the conclusions.There is significant heterogeneity in the mitigation effects of digital transformation in terms of industry,sector,size,and property rights,with the mitigation effects being more pronounced in primary and secondary industries,manufacturing firms,large firms,and private firms.The findings of the study provide ideas for enterprises to cope with economic policy uncertainty and achieve high-quality development,as well as theoretical and practical guidance for policy formulation by government departments.Based on these findings,it is recommended that firms accelerate their digital transformation strategies,establish dynamic evaluation systems to optimize transformation quality,strengthen data integration to drive scientific decision-making,and enhance innovation efficiency through technological applications.Governments,meanwhile,should improve policy support systems,strengthen infrastructure development,and implement differentiated guidance strategies to stimulate corporate transformation vitality.关键词
