Abstract

[Purposes]Soft soil foundation presents obvious nonlinear characteristics in the consolidation process,so it is necessary to comprehensively analyze the influence of the nonlinear characteristics of soft soil on the consolidation effect of foundation.[Methods]The nonlinear characteristics of soft soil deformation modulus and permeability coefficient,as well as their calculation formulas were summarized through literature investigation.Furthermore,the numerical simulation methods for the nonlinear consolidation analysis of soft soil were suggested.Based on the FLAC3D platform,a routine for the analysis of the nonlinear consolidation effect of vacuum preloading on soft soil was developed and validated.[Findings]The deformation modulus and permeability coefficient of soft soil show significant spatial difference distribution characteristics when the nonlinear characteristics of compressibility and permeability are considered at the same time.The consolidation effect close to the soft soil surface and drainage board is good,and the settlement at the center of soft soil is 19.17 cm,which is close to the measured settlement of 20.60 cm in the test.The absolute value of relative error between the numerical calculation results of consolidation-induced deformation and vacuum degree and the measured values is less than 9%,and the settlement curve is basically consistent with the laboratory test.[Conclusions]The law of rapid settlement of soft soil in the early stage of vacuumization and slow settlement in the later stage is directly related to the nonlinear characteristics of soil compressibility and permeability,and the nonlinear consolidation analysis model of vacuum preloading on soft soil considering the nonlinear characteristics of deformation modulus and permeability coefficient is more scientific and reasonable.
