摘要

Abstract

The soil heavy metal pollution has become increasingly severe,posing significant threats to food security and human health.This study investigated paddy fields in Yingtan city,Jiangxi province,and analyzed 53 topsoil samples for cadmium,arsenic,chromium,mercury,lead concentrations and pH levels.Using Jiangxi's soil background values and agricultural land risk screening values as benchmarks,we evaluated pollution status through four methods:single-factor pollution index,geo-accumulation index,and both conventional and modified Nemerow pollution indices.The results showed that:① Average soil pH was 5.41;② Mean heavy metal concentrations(mg·kg-1)were chromium 67.28,ar-senic 5.72,cadmium 0.36,mercury 0.11,and lead 38.86,with cadmium exceeding safety thresholds;(The comprehen-sive pollution evaluation levels of heavy metals in soil were ranked from high to low as follows:modified Nemerow index refer-enced to provincial background values>conventional Nemerow index using risk screening values>conventional Nemerow index using background values.The study recommends adopting the modified Nemerow index(integrated with geoaccumulation evaluation)for paddy soil evaluation,providing critical data support for agricultural safety management.
