Study on laying performance of different hybrid combinations in inbred Dagu chicken

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the laying performance of different hybrid combinations in inbred Dagu chicken.Five groups were established:Yellow-feet high-yielding ♂×green-feet high-yielding ♀(Group A),green-feet high-yielding ♂×yellow-feet high-yielding ♀(Group B),yellow-feet large-sized ♂×green-feet large-sized ♀(Group C),green-feet large-sized ♂×yellow-feet large-sized ♀(Group D),and a purebred inbred line(Group E).All groups were maintained under identical management conditions.Differences in egg production and egg quality were compared over a 52-week trial period.The results showed that at 18~52 weeks of age,the egg production rate of Group B was significantly higher than that of Group E(P<0.05),the average egg weight of Groups C and D was extremely higher than that of Group E(P<0.01),the egg production of Groups B,C and D was extremely higher than that of group E(P<0.01),and the feed to egg ratio of Groups A,B,C and D was extremely lower than that of Group E(P<0.01).The study demonstrates that hybrid combinations of inbred Dagu chicken exhibit superior laying performance to the purebred inbred line.Specifically,the green-feet high-yielding ♂×yellow-feet high-yielding♀ combination(Group B)achieved higher egg production with favorable egg quality,while the yellow-feet large-sized ♂×green-feet large-sized ♀ combination(Group C)yielded the highest egg weight and cumulative egg production,along with the lowest feed to egg ratio.Significant variations exist in laying performance across hybrid combinations,enabling targeted utilization based on specific traits to sustain continuous improvement.关键词
