Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between gestation weight gain(GWG)and the birth weight of newborns,and to analyze the mediating effect of placental fac-tors on the relationship between GWG and the birth weight of newborns.Methods:Clinical data of 1320 pregnant women and their newborns delivered at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zheng-zhou University from June 2022 to March 2024 were collected.According to the standard of weight gain during pregnancy in China,the pregnant women were divided into three groups:those with insufficient weight gain,appropriate weight gain,and excessive weight gain.The data were analyzed using multisample rank sum test,univariate analysis,and multiple regression a-nalysis to investigate the relationship between GWG and the birth weight of newborns,and a smooth curve was drawn for visual analysis.Result:In a study involving 1320 pregnant women,there was a significant positive correlation between GWG and the birth weight of newborns(P<0.05).After adjusting for confounding factors such as placental weight,placental length,and placental width,the correlation between GWG and the birth weight of newborns decreased but remained statistically significant(P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis showed that for every 1kg increase in GWG,neonatal birth weight increased by approximately 31.52g.Placental fac-tors play a partial mediating role in the relationship between GWG and the birth weight of new-borns.Conclusions:Strengthening the monitoring and management of maternal weight gain and placental development during pregnancy holds certain value in improving neonatal birth out-comes.关键词
