Evaluation of the Effects of Irrigation Methods Based on Field Capacity on Winter Wheat Yield and Irrigation Water Use Efficiency in Qitai County,Xinjiang

Abstract
To clarify the comprehensive effects of field capacity based irrigation methods on the yield and irrigation water use efficiency of winter wheat in Qitai County,Xinjiang.Different lower and upper irriga-tion limits were set based on field capacity(FC),resulting in four treatments:50%FC-90%FC,50%FC-100%FC,70%FC-90%FC,and 70%FC-100%FC.The aboveground dry matter accumulation and yield components of wheat were measured,irrigation water use efficiency was calculated,and a comprehensive e-valuation of the effects of different irrigation limits was conducted using the entropy weight method and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)model.The results showed that increasing the irrigation lower limit significantly enhanced dry matter accumulation in winter wheat,whereas the upper limit had no significant effect.Under the 70%FC-90%FC treatment,winter wheat a-chieved the highest yield(7 753.88 kg/hm2)and irrigation water use efficiency(3.13 kg/m3).The entro-py weight method revealed that spike number and irrigation water use efficiency contributed most to the comprehensive evaluation value.TOPSIS ranking indicated that the 70%FC-90%FC treatment was the op-timal solution.In conclusion,setting the irrigation lower and upper limits at 70%FC and 90%FC,respec-tively,ensures the growth and yield of winter wheat while improving water use efficiency.This approach achieves the dual goals of water-saving and yield-increasing for winter wheat production in Xinjiang.关键词
