摘要

Abstract

This paper introduces the design and development of a Ka-band broadband high-power dual-mode traveling wave tube(TWT)with classic Pierce electron gun,helix slow wave system and multistage depressed collector.Through the simulation of beam-wave interaction and the electron optical system,and the breakthrough of the key technology for suppressing the back wave oscillation of high-voltage and high-power millimeter TWT,the broadband high-power output in Ka-band is achieved.The test results show that under the working voltage of-16 kV,the device can achieve continuous wave power output of 300 W with a working current of 230 mA,and peak pulse power output of 450 W with 260 mA.The working frequency band of the TWT covers the entire Ka-band of 26.5~40 GHz,and it is suitable for engineering applications such as millimeter wave radar,electronic countermeasures,and electromagnetic radiation testing in complex environments.
