玉米ZmUBP18基因调控盐胁迫机制研究
Mechanism of ZmUBP18 gene in regulation of salt tolerance in maize

Abstract
[Objective]The study aimed to analyze the physicochemical and molecular properties of the maize ubiquitin specific protein ZmUBP18,and further elucidate the biological mechanism by which ZmUBP18 regulates maize response to salt stress.[Method]Through homology analysis,it was found that the ZmUBP18 gene may be involved in the abiotic stress response pathway of maize.Subsequently,the zmubp18 mutant from the maize mutant library was identified,the related phenotypes of zmubp18 under salt stress was analyzed,and the main physiological indicators of stress response in zmubp18,as well as the transcriptomic differences between zmubp18 and the wild-type under salt stress were analyzed.[Result]Under salt stress,the root length of zmubp18 mutants was significantly shorter compared to the wild type,exhibiting a hypersensitive phenotype,indicating that ZmUBP18 is involved in maize salt stress signaling.Physiological data revealed de-creased activities of SOD and POD,along with increased MDA content in zmubp18 under salt stress,suggest-ing severe membrane system damage and reduced salt tolerance.Transcriptomic analysis showed that salt stress-induced upregulated genes were significantly reduced in zmubp18,implying that the mutation suppresses maize salt stress response,leading to hypersensitivity.Signaling pathway analysis further demonstrated weak-ened enrichment of defense-and stress response-related genes in zmubp18 compared to the wild type under salt stress.[Conclusion]ZmUBP18 positively regulates the tolerance of maize in response to salt stress.关键词
