Study on the Disease Patterns of Chinese Mitten Crab(Eriocheir sinensis)Infected with Metschnikowia bicuspidata at Different Culti-vation Stages

Abstract
This study mainly explored the infection patterns of"milk disease"in Eriocheir sinensis at different farming stages.Chinese mitten crabs at different farming stages were used as the research objects for artificial infection experiments with Metschnikowia bicuspidata.The dis-ease characteristics of Chinese mitten crabs at different farming stages were observed,and the survival and infection rates of Chinese mitten crabs were counted.The results showed that:at the first,second and third stages of young crabs,there was no significant difference in the av-erage survival rate between the infected group and the control group.However,the average infection rates of the infected group were extremely significantly or significantly higher than that of the control group.Specifically,at the first stage,the overall growth,molting development rate and vitality of the infected group were lower than those of the control group.At the second stage,death occurred in the infected group due to molting difficulties.At the third stage,the feeding of the infected group returned to normal and its resistance to Metschnikowia bicuspidata in-creased;during the autumn temporary culture period,the vitality of Chinese mitten crabs in the infected group was generally lower than that of the control group.An emulsification symptom appeared in the bodies of dead and diseased crabs.Both the average survival rate and the average infection rate of the infected group were 83.33%and 89.00%respectively,and the average infection rate was extremely significantly higher than that of the control group;from the time of inoculation to the end of the experiment during the overwintering period,the body fluid of the crab legs in the infected group turned white and turbid,and an emulsification phenomenon occurred in the body.The average survival rate of the infected group was as high as 100%,and the average infection rate was 43.33%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group.During the juvenile crab stage,Metschnikowia bicuspidata can colonize within the Chinese mitten crab,with the infection rate being 30%or above.During the autumn temporary culture period,the average infection rate and survival rate of the"milk disease"in Chinese mit-ten crabs were relatively high,the infection progressed rapidly,and the symptoms were obvious in the later stage,which was the main infection stage of Metschnikowia bicuspidata.During the overwintering period,due to the low temperature,the metabolism of Chinese mitten crabs was slow.At the same time,the virulence of Metschnikowia bicuspidata might decrease due to the temperature drop.These factors jointly delayed the infection and disease onset time.This study preliminarily explored the disease patterns of Chinese mitten crabs infected with Metschnikowia bicuspidata at different stages,providing an important reference for the artificial farming of Chinese mitten crabs.关键词
