Abstract
To optimize the design of preventing Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion(BLEVE)in earth-covering liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks,first of all,the requirements of relevant domestic and foreign standards were sorted out.Secondly,aiming at the problem of insufficient basis for the thickness parameters of the overburden layer in domestic and foreign standards,a calculation method for the thickness of the overburden layer based on the thermal physical properties of materials was proposed by establishing a one-dimensional un-steady heat conduction model.Research showed that when the dimensionless parameter was greater than 3,the overlying soil layer can effectively isolate the surface heat source.The 0.5 m thickness recommended by the standard can meet the 1-h fire protection requirement,verifying the rationality of the lower limit value of the cur-rent standard.However,it was necessary to combine the optimization of the material's thermal diffusivity.It was suggested to give priority to using materials with low thermal diffusivity and dynamically adjust the thickness parameters.Finally,based on the calculation method,the optimal design process of the soil cover layer for the soil-covered storage tank was proposed:giving priority to choosing soil cover materials with low thermal diffus-itivity,calculating the thickness of the soil cover layer,and conducting load verification.The research results provided a theoretical basis for the intrinsic safety design of earth-covered storage tanks.关键词
