Teaching ward round transcript on state-target treatment based on syndrome differentiation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease case by Academician Tong Xiaolin

Abstract
Taking a patient with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Wuxi Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine as an example,Academician Tong Xiaolin is invited to conduct teaching rounds to expound on treatment based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)ideas,disease development,and key points of diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Academician Tong Xiaolin emphasizes the traditional Chinese medicine concept that"the lungs and large intestine are the exterior and interior of each other",which should be taken seriously in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases.From the perspective of simultaneous treatment of internal organs,attention should be paid to the treatment of the intestines for lung diseases,in order to achieve the goal of clearing the bowels to protect the viscera.Academician Tong Xiaolin summarizes the development process of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease into four states,namely phlegm,heat,stasis,and decline.He grasps the different trends of disease development,uses state-target treatment based on syndrome differentiation system,and flexibly selects target prescriptions and drugs to improve clinical efficacy.关键词
