Zhao Jianjun's experience in treatment based on syndrome differentiation of depression based on the principle of Xuanfu gas-liquid and Shaoyang as the pivot

Abstract
Professor Zhao Jianjun believes that the etiology and pathogenesis of depression syndrome are caused by the extreme influence of the five minds and being injured by the seven emotions,resulting in stagnation of qi and loss of function of spiritual mechanism.At the time of diagnosis,based on the theory of"Xuanfu gas-liquid and Shaoyang as the pivot",he believes that the functions of Xuanfu(the gateway of qi movement)and Shaoyang(the hub of qi circulation)should be understood to distinguish depression syndrome.In terms of treatment,he proposes the basic treatment principles of"promoting Xuanfu"and"balancing qi movement",and distinguishes in detail the concurrent syndromes of"dispelling fire,blood stasis,dampness stagnation,phlegm stagnation",etc.He flexibly applies Chaihu type prescriptions,and attaches importance to the application of mind-regulating and tranquillization.关键词
