The Impact of Servitized Manufacturing on Enterprise Labor Income Share under the Goal of Common Prosperity:Empirical Evidence from Chinese Listed Manufacturing Companies

Abstract
Common prosperity is an essential requirement of socialism,and enhancing primary income distribution is a crucial path to achieving common prosperity.This paper takes Chinese A-share listed manufacturing companies from 2008 to 2022 as the research sample and manually compiles the proportion of service businesses within manufacturing enterprises to investigate the impact of servitization on labor income share in enterprises and its underlying mechanisms.The study finds that servitization significantly increases the labor income share of enterprises.Mechanism analysis indicates that servitization enhances the labor income share by improving the efficiency of labor resource allocation,optimizing the skill structure of employees,and alleviating financing constraints.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that this enhancement effect is more pronounced in enterprises with characteristics such as high digital transformation and high sustainability goals,as well as those in highly competitive industries,high-tech industries,and located in eastern regions or regions with a high degree of marketization.Further research shows that servitization increases employees' labor income share,narrows the income gap within enterprises,enhances the level of common prosperity within enterprises,and also increases enterprises' contribution to common prosperity.The findings of this paper enrich the literature on servitization and provide policy insights for the country to achieve common prosperity in high-quality development.关键词
