Evaluation of Salt and Alkali Tolerance of Soybean Varieties and the Effects of Agronomic Measures on Physiological Indicators of Salt and Alkali Tolerance

Abstract
In order to evaluate the salt alkali tolerance of different soybean varieties and explore the effects of agronomic measures on physiological indicators of soybean in saline alkali soil,suitable soybean varieties and agronomic measures were screened for planting in saline alkali soil.In 2023,9 soybean varieties were used as materials to study the salt and alkali tolerance of soybean varieties.The agronomic traits,quality,yield and constituent factors of the plants were determined at the maturity stage.Then,the correlation analysis and principal component analysis based on the data of determination were proceeded.In 2024,the soybean variety Heinong 531 was used as the experimental material to study the effects of agronomic traits on physiological indicators of soybeans in saline alkali soil.Six treatments were set up,including CK,conventional cultivation(three row cultivation+conventional fertilization);T1,no-tillage cultivation+conventional fertilization;T2,three row cultivation+organic fertilizer;T3,conventional cultivation+biological bacterial fertilizer;T4,conventional cultivation+biological bacterial agent;and T5,conventional cultivation+soil amendment.POD(Peroxidase)and SOD(Superoxide dismutase)activities,MDA(Malondialdehyde)and Pro(Proline)contents were measured during the key growth stages of soybeans(VE,R2,R4,R6,R8).The results showed that the highest coefficient of variation was in fat and protein content,reaching respectively 58.52%and 31.16%among the 5 agronomic traits and 3 yield and quality indicators of 9 soybean varieties,under saline alkali land conditions in 2023.Correlation analysis showed that soybean various trait indicators exhibit varying degrees of correlation.The number of nodes per plant was significantly positively correlated with plant height,protein content was extremely significantly negatively correlated with fat content,and yield was significantly positively correlated with the number of pods and seeds per plant.Based on principal component analysis,plant height,number of pods per plant,and fat content can be used as representative indicators to evaluate soybean salt alkali tolerance traits,with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 90.52%for the three principal components.The comprehensive score results indicate that Heinong 531 and Hongqingdou 28 have good salt and alkali tolerance.In 2024,the agronomic measures can increase the activities of SOD,POD,and content of proline in the leaves of soybean during the critical growth period in saline alkali soil to varying degrees,while reduce the content of MDA compared with CK.Among the different cultivation measures,T2 treatment had the best comprehensive effect,followed by T3 treatment.The research results indicate that Heinong 531 and Nongqingdou 28 are two soybean varieties with high salt alkali tolerance,the application of organic fertilizer and biological bacterial fertilizer can alleviate salt alkali stress,and adopting reasonable agronomic measures has better effects.This research can provide reference for the selection of soybean varieties and suitable cultivation methods in saline alkali land.关键词
