摘要

Abstract

The formation and evolution of Earth's habitable environment represents one of the core scientific challenges in 21st century Earth sciences and a matter of profound societal concern,stemming from the pivotal fact that Earth is the only planet in the Solar System with an oxygen(O2)-bearing atmosphere where the rise of atmospheric oxygen concentration served as the key driver of planetary habitability.Two global-scale oxygenation events during the Precambrian-the Great Oxidation Event(GOE,~2.4 Ga)at the Archean-Proterozoic boundary marking Earth's transition from anoxic to oxic states and paving the way for eukaryote emergence,and the Neoproterozoic Oxygenation Event(NOE,~0.6 Ga)during the Proterozoic-Phanerozoic transition where oxygen levels surged to near-modern concentrations triggering the Cambrian Explosion-constitute fundamental turning points in Earth's habitable evolution.Despite established frameworks for redox evolution,critical debates persist regarding event chronology and intensity,Mesoproterozoic redox conditions,and mechanistic drivers linking oxygenation to biological innovations.China's exceptional Precambrian geological archives,including the North China Craton's well-developed Paleoproterozoic-Mesoproterozoic sequences(e.g.,BIF-bearing formations)and South China Block's globally significant Neoproterozoic sections(e.g.,Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation),provide ideal research materials.This review synthesizes three interconnected themes:① spatiotemporal patterns of ocean-atmosphere redox evolution,② tectonic-biological interactions driving GOE/NOE,and ③ genetic links between massive Fe-Mn deposition and redox transitions,while outlining future research priorities emphasizing multi-proxy geochemistry,high-resolution chronostratigraphy,and Earth system modeling to resolve outstanding controversies.
