Transient Characteristics and Fault Crossing Strategy of Grid-forming VSC-HVDC Converter Station Under Opposite Terminal AC Fault

Abstract
Under the impact of large disturbance,the grid-forming VSC-HVDC interacts with converter stations,converter stations,and AC networks,and it affects the stability of the system.This paper first investigates the grid-forming VSC-HVDC technology based on virtual synchronization and analyzes the dynamic response characteristics of gird-forming converter stations when AC faults occur on the AC side of the other station..Subsequently,addressing the issue of DC-side disturbances arising from AC faults at fixed DC voltage converter stations,a customized grid-forming VSC-HVDC fault ride-through strategy is proposed,tailored to accommodate various operational scenarios.Finally,based on PSModel,a full-electromagnetic transient simulation system with grid-forming VSC-HVDC is constructed to verify the accuracy of theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of fault crossing strategy.关键词
