Transfer and Action Mechanism of Docosahexaenoic Acid between Maternity and Offspring of Animals
摘要
Abstract
Docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)is an essential omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(ω-3 PUFAs)that plays a crucial role in neurodevelopment and immune function of animal organisms.It is crucial for maternal health,fetal development,and early offspring growth.Maternal intake of DHA during pregnancy is primarily transported to the placenta and mammary glands in the form of free fatty acids or lipoproteins through blood cir-culation,and subsequently transferred to the offspring via the placenta and breast milk.Additionally,the gut microbiota indirectly promotes the maternal-offspring transfer of DHA by regulating the maternal metabolism,immune function and nutrient absorption efficiency,among other means.In order to elucidate the crucial role of DHA in maternal-offspring transfer and its biological mechanisms,this paper reviews the research progress in related fields both domestically and internationally.It focuses on discussing the transfer pathways and mecha-nisms of DHA between maternity and offspring,aiming to offer a reference for the study of integrated mater-nal-offspring nutritional regulation.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(7):4220-4232].关键词
