摘要
Abstract
In recent years,no significant exploration breakthrough has been achieved for pegmatite-type lithium deposits in Fujian Province,South China. This paper reports the first discovery of an industrially valuable pegmatite-type lithium polymetallic deposit in Fujian, and discussed its geological characteristics and implications for regional prospecting. In 2023,guided by the exploration strategy of"first locating pegmatites, then targeting rare metal deposits, the Western Fujian Geological Party of Fujian Province discovered a new medium-sized pegmatite-type lithium polymetallic deposit in Fengdi,Jiangle County, through field geological mapping, trenching, and drill verification. The estimated Li2O resources exceed 10,000 tons, with an average Li2O grade of 1.13%,accompanied by associated rare metal ores such as beryllium, niobium, tantalum, and rubidium.Nine rare metal-bearing pegmatite veins were discovered in the area, and occurred as closely spaced vein clusters. The main ore-bearing pegmatite vein extends 1,350 m in length and ranges from 3 to 200 m in width. The primary ore minerals include spodumene and amblygonite, with minor amounts of columbite-tantalite and beryl. The metallogenic epoch is inferred to be similar to that of the Xikeng tantalum-niobium deposit in Nanping, likely belonging to the Caledonian period. This discovery marks a major breakthrough in the exploration of pegmatite-type lithium deposits in Fujian Province. It provides valuable guidance for geological surveys and prospecting prediction of pegmatite-type lithium polymetallic deposits in the region. The Nanping-Ninghua tectonic-magmatic belt, surrounding the North Wuyi uplift zone, may represent a promising area for discovering large-scale pegmatite-type lithium deposits in Fujian and even across South China.关键词
