Abstract

In order to provide a reference basis for the promotion and demonstration of Carya illinoinensis in the Fujian Province,we analyzed the cultivation adaptability of 16 C.illinoinensis clones in the Luoyuan County based on survival rate,incidence of diseases and pests,growth traits,and nut traits.The results indicated that:①The overall survival rate of 16 clones was 81.54%,with Mah-an,Ya 28 and Ya 35 having the highest survival rate of 100.00%,and Pawnee having the lowest survival rate of 40.00%.The over-all incidence of diseases and pests was relatively high,with infected plants accounting for 69.82%.Black-spot disease and leaf eat-ing pests were the most common occurrences.②In growth traits,the multiple growth indicators of Ya 5 were lower than those of other clones,indicating poor performance.Except for the number of primary branches,there were significant differences(P<0.01)in the growth traits of clones.③In fruit traits,there were Ya 100,Ya 104,Ya 11,Ya 25,and Ya 35 that achieved fruiting,but the differences between trait indicators were not significant.④Correlation analysis showed that among tree traits,there was no significant correlation between the number of primary branches and the length or thickness of primary branches,the correlation between other traits was extremely significant(P<0.01);among the traits of nuts,only a few pairs showed highly significant correlations between traits(P<0.01).⑤Principal component analysis divided six traits into two principal components,with a cumulative contribution rate of 89.73%.The comprehensive scores of Shaoxing 1,Pawnee,Ya 100,Ya 35 and Jinhua 1 were in the top 5.Based on comprehen-sive analysis,the survival rate of clone Ya 100 afforestation was high,with relatively few pests and diseases,and early fruit produc-tion,making it more suitable for cultivation in the Luoyuan area of Fujian Province.
