摘要

Abstract

[Purpose]The study aims to understand the current research situation of genetic breeding and application of giant em-bryo rice and provide a basis for the functional germplasm creation and variety breeding of giant embryo rice.[Method]Through lit-erature search,the research progress in the inheritance and gene location of the giant embryo trait in rice,the nutrient components and health care functions of giant embryo rice,the biological mechanism of giant embryo development,and the breeding and appli-cation of giant embryo rice varieties were reviewed.[Result]Domestic and foreign breeders have bred a range of giant embryo rice varieties with waxy grain,black grain,red grain and other traits through mutagenesis,hybridization and other methods.The giant embryo was inherited as a recessive monogenic trait,and the size of embryo was controlled by nuclear genes.The giant embryo gene was located on chromosome 7 or chromosome 3.The content of functional components including gamma-aminobutyric acid,vitamin E,and minerals in giant embryo rice increased significantly due to the increases in embryo volume and mass.Highly nutritional functional food can be developed with giant embryo rice as the raw material.[Conclusion]It is suggested that efforts should be made to strengthen the breeding of giant embryo rice varieties and the research and development of relevant products,and delve into the mechanism of giant embryo formation and development,so as to provide a basis for the development and utilization of giant em-bryo rice.
