A Study on Stakeholders Cooperation Models in Land Acquisition and Demolition Activities for Engineering Projects

Abstract
Land expropriation and demolition have become common sources of conflict during China's rapid urbanization and industrialization processes.Such activities,often required for the construction of investment projects,involve the requisition of land and the demolition of buildings,which can lead to significant social risks if not managed properly.In some cases,these risks escalate into social conflicts,highlighting the critical need for effective stakeholder cooperation.This paper explores the cooperation models among stakeholders in land expropriation and demolition activities,with a particular focus on projects involving state-owned and collectively owned land.By applying stakeholder theory and Mitchell's classification method,we identify the various stakeholders involved in the process.These stakeholders include government authorities,property owners,residents,investors,and contractors,among others.Each of these groups has distinct interests and levels of influence,which must be carefully balanced to prevent conflicts and ensure the smooth progress of construction projects.The research also conducts a comprehensive analysis of the social impacts of land expropriation and demolition activities on affected communities.These impacts often include displacement,loss of livelihood,and changes to social networks,which can generate resistance and opposition from affected populations.Understanding these social dynamics is crucial for developing strategies that mitigate negative outcomes and foster cooperation.The study begins with a comprehensive analysis of the social impact of land acquisition and demolition in project construction,particularly focusing on the conflicts that arise between different stakeholders.By leveraging game theory,the study examines the interactions and power dynamics among stakeholders,seeking to understand how these relationships can be structured to achieve a Nash equilibrium,where no stakeholder can benefit by unilaterally changing their strategy.This equilibrium is essential for fostering cooperation among the parties involved.To achieve a cooperative model,the study suggests two main strategies:first,stakeholders must clearly define their roles and seek mutual benefits through collaboration.Second,the introduction of market mechanisms is proposed as a means to create an effective cooperative model that aligns with the interests of all parties involved.The research highlights the importance of these strategies in mitigating social risks and enhancing the stability of land acquisition and demolition activities.The findings of this study offer significant contributions to the field by providing a novel approach to understanding and managing stakeholder relationships in land acquisition and demolition activities.The proposed cooperative models not only contribute to the theoretical development of stakeholder theory and game theory but also offer practical implications for policymakers and practitioners.These models provide a framework for creating policies that foster cooperation and minimize conflict,ultimately contributing to more sustainable and socially responsible urbanization and industrialization processes in China.The study's insights are valuable for academic discourse and have potential for broad application in the management of engineering projects,particularly in contexts where land acquisition and demolition are involved.关键词
