Abstract

In the design of fishing port projects,breakwaters are built to resist or reduce wave overtopping,which ensures the stability of water area and the operations safety of ships in ports.In view of the complexity of wave conditions,some physical model experiments or numerical simulations are usually employed to analyze the sheltering effects of various layout plans of a breakwater during the design stage.The research results support the plan optimization.A numerical model of wave transformation was built for a fishing port expansion project based on Wave Module ARTEMIS of TELEMAC-MASCARET,which deduced the sheltering effect of the proposed breakwater and the berthing stability conditions in the port.The results showed that the wave heights in the port during the construction were reduced by an average of 58%~85%compared to that before the construction,and the data gathered from most of monitoring points met the berthing stability standard,i.e.the layout plan is reasonable.For the berth being directly impacted by the waves from the port entrance,a permeable structure or a certain wave dissipation measures were proposed.
