Research progress on the spheroidization technology of HMX

Abstract
HMX is widely used in the defense and military fields due to its advantages of high density,high energy and excel-lent detonation performance.However,its high mechanical sensitivity limits its further applications.Spheroidizationof HMX can im-prove its thermal stability,reduce sensitivityand enhance its safety.This article reviews the recent research progress on preparation methods and mechanisms for spherical HMX and summarizes various spheroidization methods,including mechanical grinding,spray crystallization and solvent-anti solvent.The principles,operational characteristics and advantages/disadvantages of each method are analyzed.The results show that the mechanical grinding and ultrasonic methods are simple to operate but have safety risks.Spray crystallization,emulsification and supercritical fluid crystallization methods allow for controllable particle size but have high require-ments for equipment and operators as well as high costs.Solvent anti-solvent,solvent erosion and coating methods have high safety and low cost,but obtaining nanoscale spherical HMX is difficult with these methods.Therefore,considering the respective advanta-ges and disadvantages of each HMX spheroidization technology and practical needs,future research should focus on multi-process collaboration and large-scale production for HMX spheroidization,aiming at high-quality and industrialized production of HMX.关键词
