Interdisciplinary research trends in neuroma and mental illness:Bibliometric evidence from studies on glioma,pituitary adenoma,and meningioma

Abstract
Objective To investigate the research trends and hotspots in the field of mental illness and neuroma using bibliometric methods,including glioma,pituitary tumor,and meningioma.Methods With the core collection of Web of Science as the data source and the application of the visualization function of VOSviewer and CiteSpace software,the bibliometric methods were used to analyze the countries/regions,universities/institutions,journals,authors,cited articles,and keywords of the research articles associated with mental illness and neuroma published from 1999 to 2024.Results The number of publications in this field showed a trend of exponential growth,and the mean annual number of publications increased rapidly from 8.2 in the germination period(2001-2005)to 31.7 in the outbreak period(2016-2022),reaching a peak of 46 in 2022.As for countries/regions,China had the highest number of publications,followed by the United States,and China and the United States were the core countries in the cooperative network and had the highest number of institutions.There was no significant difference in the number of publications across various universities/institutions,but there was a significant difference in the influence of different universities/institutions,and the higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia had greater academic influence.Among the 498 journals involved,Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America had the highest co-citation frequency,and the series journals of Frontiers and BMC Cancer had high academic influence in this field.The number of articles published by each author was relatively balanced,but with a relatively low overall number of articles.There were four articles with the highest number of citations in this field,with a number of 7 times.The research directions involved in keywords included neuroactive steroids,cognitive impairment,prolactinoma,dopamine,proliferation,and depression.Conclusions The interdisciplinary application of neuroactive steroids and the dynamic regulation of metabolic-immune microenvironment are hot topics in the interdisciplinary research on mental illness and brain tumors.关键词
