Empowering educational reform in Human Embryology through case-based learning combined with digital content

Abstract
Objective To assess the effectiveness of integrating digital specimens into case-based learning(CBL)methodology in human embryology education.Methods A total of 101 students from two parallel classes were randomly assigned to an experimental group(n=51)and a control group(n=50).Both groups were instructed on six exemplary cases of fetal malformations.The experimental group utilized digital specimens of malformed fetuses combined with CBL,whereas the control group employed traditional classroom teaching methods in combination with CBL.Teaching evaluation and theoretical scores were compared.Results The experimental group scored significantly higher across six secondary indicators(P<0.05).Post-teaching test scores improved more in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The integration of digital specimens into CBL methodology in human embryology education has shown marked improvements in student engagement,learning efficiency,overall educational outcomes,and higher scores.This development underscores the value of digital specimens as a high-quality resource for vocational education,knowledge dissemination,and resource sharing within the academic community.关键词
